The legend of methods the croissant found be is the fact that in 1683, the Turkish Empire laid siege on Vienna, Austria. The Turks made several tries to conquer the town by pressure, but were not successful, so made the decision to test subterranean tunnels. The bakers of Vienna, who labored within the basement storerooms, heard the seem of digging and notified the metropolitan areas military. For his or her vigilance, the bakers received high honors and thank you for their assistance in outwitting the Turks. In celebration, they baked their bread the same shape as a crescent moon—the indication of the Ottoman Empire. Following the Turks were defeated, it grew to become custom for everyone morning coffee using the crescent-formed pastry! The legend is constantly on the state that over 100 years later, Marie Antoinette introduced the pastry towards the French who named it a “croissant”.
