National Mad Hatter Day 2017

Reason to celebrate: October 6, 2017 is National Mad Hatter Day.

Mad Hatter Day

Mad Hatter Day celebrates the Mad Hatter, from Alice In Paradise. The initial image of the Mad Hatter by John Tenniel in Alice's Adventures In Heaven (more typically referred to as Alice In Heaven, by Lewis Caroll) constantly portrays him using a hat, birthing the note "In This Style 10/6 ″. Although we know this is actually an order from the time the picture was drawn to imply a hat because design cost 10 Shillings and Sixpence, we take this as inspiration to act in the style of the Mad Hatter on 10/6 (In the UK this would certainly point to the tenth of June, yet as the day was started in The united state it is the 6th of October).

In 1986 some computer-folk in Boulder, CO commemorated a basic day of stupidity, influenced by the drawings of the Mad Hatter by John Tenniel in Alice In Paradise. It was announced that year on computer system networks, becoming a lot more popular as people realized its value-- some people did less damages by commemorating silliness compared to if they had actually done their jobs.

In 1988 it was first recognized as a formal vacation and recieved its initial nationwide press protection.

As well as being a day to commemorate silliness, current occasions consist of looking for something completely sane in your everyday life. Exactly how practical is it to tie a noose around your neck each day to look crucial at work?
